Purposes For Practicum
The purpose of the program is to produce globally competitive future teachers and to enhance more the teachers English language speaking and to experience different cultures and behaviors of different students from different countries and allow the student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view. In additional, this program also give the student teachers chance to develop the teaching skills and pedagogy.
Procedures of Practicum
The procedures of practicum in this program consists of observation, teaching assistance, teaching practice, evaluation and reflection. In PSU Integrated School-High School Department, the student teacher has observation in the first and second week. And then, in the second and third week the student teacher have teaching assistant, and the student teacher will start to teach in the third to forth week. The last, the student teachers have the evaluation (final demo) in the forth week.
Outcomes of Practicum
The student teacher can improve their English proficiency.
The student teacher will have many experiences regarding different students behavior, teaching strategies and culture from different country.
The student teacher gains more knowledge regarding the teaching skills and pedagogy of that school.
The Challenges of Practicum
The challenges that I faced during this program was that adjusting to a new environment. New lifestyle and new people to meet.
Lack of vocabularies to say in front of the class. Sometimes it makes me difficult to make students understand about the topic.
Overall Impression
It was an amazing experience being part of the SEA Teacher Project. We experienced different kinds of lesson plan, meet different people in different religions and experience new things which resulted to learning.
Through this program, I’m as Indonesian have a chance to know about culture in the other country. We’re also share our culture with Filipino and that’s awesome. In additional, I also have more friends from different country. It’s can make me to have more knowledges, more experiences, and more tolerance with the other religion. I also realize that whereas we have different country, religion, culture, language and the other things but we are in one community. We are ASEAN and we have one vision, one identity, and one community because we can be unity in diversity.
SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENT
For SEAMEO
The SEA Teacher Project is a great opportunity for pre-service teachers like me to enhance more our teaching ability and be able to adjust to a new environment and developing our English skills. We hope again for the next batch to have more practice teachers from different countries to be deployed as exchange students.
PSU Integrated School-High School department
A humble school full of humble people with many achievements. They treat as like their own faculty members during our stay at PSU Integrated School-High School Department. All of the school’s citizens are very kind and treat us the best that they can do. I hope that the treatment that PSU Integrated School-High School Department gave us will be the same again for the following SEA Teacher Project.

We were very thankful for give us chance to met great and profesional teacher in PSU Integrated School-High School Department. They are very kind, they always help us when we need their help even though it’s not about learning process. I hope for the next batch SEA-Teacher, they also can get that chance to meet the great teacher like what was I felt.
